    The Walter Kaitz Foundation, the cable industry’s foundation for diversity, announced plans today for its 9th Annual Supplier Diversity Connection Workshop in conjunction with The Cable Show ’08. In addition, the Kaitz Foundation also released plans for a first-time program, to be produced in conjunction with BET Networks, which will introduce minority students and professionals to technical opportunities available in the cable industry.

    Matthew Blank, Chairman and CEO, Showtime Networks Inc. and Anne Sweeney, Co-Chair, Disney Media Networks and President, Disney-ABC Television Group, are the 2008 recipients of the cable industry’s top honor, the Vanguard Award for “Distinguished Leadership,”. Sweeney and Blank top the list of nine Vanguard Award winners who will be recognized for their outstanding contributions to the cable industry. The 2008 Vanguard Awards will be presented on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at a 4:15 p.m. (CDT) reception and awards ceremony during The Cable Show '08. Separate registration required.
