The Sportsman Channel's Hunt.Fish.Feed. initiative connects hunters, meat processors and shelters to feed those who are less fortunate. Hunters and anglers donate millions of meals annually to those in need through programs like Safari Club International Foundation's Sportsmen Against Hunger™.

This successful program will be serving lunch at the Ozanam Inn; located at 843 Camp Street; for approximately 150 people at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 17. The Inn is located 10 blocks from the Convention Center in downtown New Orleans.

How You Can Help:

  • Volunteer Transportation: All volunteers will be taken by bus to and from the Ozanam Inn (www.Ozanaminn.org). Buses will be located outside of Hall B. Please be sure you board the bus that has a sign reading “Hunt.Fish.Feed/Ozanam Inn”. For those wishing to drive themselves to the shelter, there is free parking available behind the shelter. The address of the shelter is: 843 Camp Street, New Orleans, LA 70130. Phone: (504) 523-1184.

  • Team Assignments: Upon arrival at the shelter, you are greeted and given your team assignment from Kim Hawkins of the Sportsman’s Channel. Volunteers arriving for the first shift will be preparing the meal and dining room for lunch. Those arriving (or staying on) for the second shift will be serving the lunch at 2 p.m. and helping to clean up the facility. Volunteers are welcome to stay for both shifts.

  • Volunteer End of Day: The first shift's end of day is at 1:30 p.m. Those wishing to stay on and the second shift's end of day is at 3:30 p.m.

  • Sportsman's Channel Reception: All volunteers who assisted with the day’s activities are invited to join the Sportsman’s Channel at their celebration cocktail reception being held at 7:00 p.m. at Mulates on 201 Julia Street, one block from the convention center. The reception is business/casual attire.

  • What Should I Wear? We recommend that volunteers dress in comfortable weather-appropriate clothing that they do not mind getting irreversibly dirty. Closed toe shoes are required. Sportsman's Channel will be handing out t-shirts, hats and aprons to all volunteers before the day begins. Please bring an energetic spirit, challenge yourself, motivate others and have some fun!

  • Personal Belongings: We will have a secure place at the shelter for people to store their personal belongings.

  • Will Volunteers be Fed During the Day? Yes, volunteers will be given snacks throughout the day.

  • Restroom Facilities are Available On-Site for All Volunteers.
